Hybrid Mortgage Advisor – Croydon/Addiscombe (Self-Employed)
£60,000 – £80,000 OTE
The Opportunity
Our established and dynamic estate agency client in Croydon is seeking a high-calibre, self-employed Mortgage Advisor to join their team. This hybrid role offers the perfect blend of flexibility and collaboration, allowing you to work from a vibrant branch environment three days a week and remotely one day a week (including occasional Saturdays from home).
In this exciting role, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting clients throughout their property journey by providing expert mortgage and protection advice. You’ll leverage your in-depth knowledge of the mortgage market to secure the most suitable deals for first-time buyers, movers, and investors.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their financial situation, property goals, and risk tolerance.
- Research and recommend the most appropriate mortgage products from a comprehensive panel of lenders, ensuring whole-of-market solutions.
- Guide clients through the mortgage application process, liaising with lenders, estate agents, and solicitors to ensure a smooth and efficient transaction.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of complex mortgage products and financial concepts, ensuring clients feel empowered throughout the decision-making process.
- Develop strong relationships with local estate agents and property professionals to generate a steady stream of mortgage leads.
- (Optional) Offer expert protection advice, including life insurance, critical illness cover, and buildings and contents insurance (relevant qualifications required).
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative branch environment, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
- Develop and maintain a strong personal brand by actively building relationships within the local community.
- Meet and exceed ambitious sales targets for mortgage completions.
- Work one Saturday per month remotely, providing support to clients via phone and email.
Who You Are
- A highly motivated and self-employed Mortgage Advisor with a proven track record of success.
- CeMAP qualified (or working towards) with a strong understanding of the UK mortgage market.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from all walks of life.
- A confident and persuasive communicator, capable of explaining complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- A strong work ethic, with the ability to manage your time effectively and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- IT literate with a proficiency in mortgage software and CRM systems.
- A clean driving licence (ideally) for occasional branch visits.
- You may possess additional qualifications to offer protection advice (desirable but not essential).
