Overview
Cameron James Professional Recruitment is proud to represent an award-winning national mortgage and protection business within the Just Mortgages group, now seeking an experienced Protection Advisor to operate on a home-based, self-employed basis across Essex.
This role provides the perfect blend of flexibility, independence and strong earning potential. You will receive 30–40 warm mortgage leads per month from active Mortgage Advisors operating across Essex, in addition to full access to a substantial existing client backbook, giving you consistent protection opportunities without the pressure of self-generation.
With unlimited annual leave, generous commission splits and full operational support, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Protection Advisor looking to take full control of their diary, income and career direction.

Key Responsibilities
In this home-based Protection Advisor role, you will provide expert protection advice to clients referred from Mortgage Advisors, introducers, and an extensive backbook.
You will complete detailed protection fact-finds, identify client vulnerabilities and needs, and recommend whole-of-market protection solutions including life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection.
You will build long-term relationships with new and existing clients, revisit previous policies and deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales and application process.
You will work independently while following FCA compliance standards, maintaining high advice quality, accurate documentation and strong conversion rates.
Ideal Candidate
To thrive in this Essex Protection Advisor role, you should have proven experience in protection-only or mortgage & protection advice, ideally with a strong track record in protection conversion and client outcomes.
RO5 is desirable but not essential. What matters most is your understanding of protection products, compliance requirements and your ability to provide clear, client-focused advice.
You should be self-driven, highly organised, confident working remotely and comfortable managing your own workload without supervision.
Strong communication skills, the ability to build rapport quickly and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes are essential.
