Cameron James Professional Recruitment is representing an award-winning national mortgage and protection brokerage within the Just Mortgages group, now seeking an experienced Protection Advisor to work on a home-based, self-employed basis across Southampton and the wider Hampshire region.
This is the ideal opportunity for a Protection Advisor who wants full flexibility, a steady flow of warm leads, high earning potential and the ability to build recurring income without the constraints of an office-based or employed role.
With 30–40 warm mortgage leads per month coming directly from active Mortgage Advisors in the Southampton area, plus access to a substantial existing client backbook, you will have a strong and consistent source of protection opportunities every month.

Key Responsibilities
You will provide whole-of-market protection advice to clients referred by Mortgage Advisors and through the company’s extensive backbook.
Your role will involve completing fact-finds, identifying and explaining client protection needs, and recommending suitable solutions including life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection, mortgage protection and family-focused protection plans.
You will manage your cases from start to finish, maintain strong communication with clients, ensure regulatory compliance and deliver an outstanding client experience.
Revisiting the backbook will form a key part of your role, identifying gaps in existing protection arrangements and offering suitable solutions.
Ideal Candidate
To excel in this Southampton Protection Advisor role, you should have experience in protection or mortgage & protection advice, with a proven ability to achieve strong conversion rates and deliver positive client outcomes.
RO5 is desirable but not essential.
You should possess strong communication skills, confidence discussing client finances, and the ability to work independently from home.
A proactive, self-driven attitude and excellent organisational skills are essential, along with an understanding of FCA expectations and compliance processes.
